Tired of cutting myself in the kitchen, I recently took a knife skills class. The Epicurean boards were what we used in class and the chef said he prefecture over all others (wood being behind best choice). He likes these because they can be put in dishwasher so you don't build up bacteria in all the little cuts but is gentler on knives. I noticed these don't move around like my old boards. If you're still using a plastic (or worse, glass) cutting board, get yourself one, of these!

I have the two smaller versions. There were occasions where a bigger board would have come in handy. It is a good cutting board, but I regret getting the natural color board. I have a black and that other color. The natural seems like raw wood. I use it rarely, but never intended to have it used on a daily basis like my other two.

No smell! The reviews that talk about a chemical smell must be about the black ones, only. I've been using these nutmeg colored boards for years, and just ordered more sizes. I have five, plus the utensil set, which is made of exactly the same material, PLUS I'm super sensitive to chemical odors...but I'm giving it the 'all clear.'

I saw a cutting board made out of the same material at a high end retail store, I checked out Amazon to see if there was a better price (the one at the store was priced over $80). I've been using this cutting board for over a month and it is absolutely fantastic. I use very heavy duty knives and the board doesn't have a scratch on it. I also like the fact that it is incredibly easy to clean and dries up quickly.

I a kitchen product geek who researches and carefully buy stuff for my cooking pleasure. I've avoided these boards for years because they seemed too pricy and I had plenty of traditional wood boards. Got this board to use for meat and fish instead of regular wood boards. It is smaller than I'd like for an all-the-time board and yet I find myself reaching for it nearly all the time. I use logo side for raw meat and other for veggies etc. Cleans easily. Gentle on knives. Thin enough to stop well. And I find thee price on Amazon makes it a good value. Con: This is the version without cover grippers so it does slide around if the counter is even a little wet. I would still get the one without cover grips because I think (no evidence) that it will clean easier and better.

Not my first or last Epicurean board. This is a great product if you have good knives. I rarely have to resharpen my blades as this board does not dull them. It is easy to clean and maintain. If it warps (and they tend to do that if you let them stay wet), soak in water for about 10 minutes then place on a clean flat surface and cover with the heaviest flat thing in your kitchen. I use a 12" cast iron pan and put some additional heavy things inside for more weight. Leave it overnight and it will be as good as new. I have given these boards as gifts (wedding, birthday, Christmas) and every one loves them. I highly recommend this product.

Excellent cutting board that takes a few days to get used to. It's different than your normal plastic or wood board in that it is a very hard surface that creates a louder "clacking" sound and less knife resistance when you slice and dice (one reason your knife stays sharper I believe). At first you may think that you prefer your old board that has a lower "clacking" sound, however, you start to realize that the cutting action is just as good or better than your old board and the grooves that are created from the knife blade are much smaller. This makes cleaning the board much easier as the surface remains much smoother for your sponge to get all the food particles off. Also the weight of the board is much lighter than either plastic or wood, which makes the trip from the counter to the sink or lifting to the pan much easier and faster. I highly recommend the largest size (17x13) and would use if for a while if you are unsure about it at first. Also keep a small dish towel underneath the board to prevent it from sliding around and to slightly elevate to grab easily.

I have used several types of cutting boards over the years; glass, plastic, bamboo, hardwood and this is my favorite cutting board, I love it!. I have one for meats and one for everything else. I found it is so convenient to use and carry with my cuttings from the counter to the stove top since it is lightweight and not bulky. The good-looking custom-made hardwood one I have just sits on the counter now that I have this one. And I also worry less about this one holding bacteria and it is much less maintenance than the hardwood.

This is a fantastic cutting board. I have had other wood and plastic boards in the past and none of them compare to the Epicurean cutting board. I love that it's dishwasher safe and is made from wood so it doesn't damage my knives. It's the best of everything. I haven't been able to find any negatives about this board. I liked it so much I bought one for my mother too. It's a good size, not too heavy and I have had no problems with it slipping or moving during use. I've had it for close to a month and have used it multiple times. It's easy to clean since you throw it in the dishwasher and seems very durable.

Have had this for one year. It took a little getting used to, but now I love it. I bought a Boos 3/4" thick maple wood board a few months before I bought this, but it warped and split in no time. I wondered why my mom's old wood board has held up after all these years; why not the Boos board? So I had to buy a new board, and chose this "Natural" board. I didn't like how my big knife clacked when chopping, but I switched to as small a knife as needed for the job I had at the moment, and that worked better. I sharpen my knives before each use, so I don't notice that this board dulls your knives. I love how it's light weight, and thus, so easy to wash and drain dry. I think because it didn't warp and split, and was easy to wash, that's why I persisted in using it, and now I love it! My husband had issues with it in the beginning too, but now it's his go-to board.
